Why gums matter

Gum disease is the most common reason adults lose teeth. It starts quietly — a little bleeding when you brush — and over years the gum and bone that hold teeth in place shrink away.

How we treat it

After measuring your gums, Faith cleans below the gumline to remove the hardened deposits that keep them inflamed. We numb each area first and split the work into two visits, so it’s thorough without being tiring.

Eight weeks later we measure again to see how your gums have healed, and agree how often you need maintenance cleans.

At home

We keep home care simple: the right brush, one interdental brush size, and two minutes, twice a day. Faith will show you exactly how — no lectures.

Questions

My gums bleed but don't hurt. Is that a problem?

Yes — bleeding gums are the most common early sign of gum disease, and it's usually painless until it's advanced. The good news is that it's very treatable early.

Can gum disease be cured?

Early gum disease (gingivitis) can be fully reversed. More advanced disease can be controlled and kept stable with treatment and regular maintenance.

Many private covers include it. We send a pre-authorisation to your insurer before we begin.
