Visiting Shwari
Bookings, hours,
insurance and cost.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept SHA civil-servant comprehensive cover and major private insurers — and we confirm your benefit before treatment starts. Private insurers include AAR, APA, Britam, CIC, Jubilee, Madison, Minet, Old Mutual. Corporate and staff schemes are welcome.
What happens at my first visit?
A 45-minute appointment: a conversation first, then — only if you are ready — an examination and digital X-rays. You leave with a written plan and prices on WhatsApp.
Do you accept walk-ins?
We keep space for urgent pain every day, so call or WhatsApp before coming in and we will give you a time. Routine visits are by appointment so nobody is rushed.
What are your opening hours?
Monday – Friday: 08:00–18:00. Saturday: 09:00–14:00. Sunday: Closed. After-hours line for registered patients with severe pain, swelling or a knocked-out tooth. Not a 24-hour walk-in service.
Is there an emergency line?
After-hours line for registered patients with severe pain, swelling or a knocked-out tooth. Not a 24-hour walk-in service. Call 0718 700 681. For facial swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, go straight to a hospital emergency department.
Do you treat children?
Yes. Dr Daniel Mwangi is a specialist paediatric dentist and sees children from their first birthday. Parents stay in the room throughout.
Do you offer payment plans?
Treatment over KES 40,000 can be paid in 3 interest-free monthly M-Pesa instalments, agreed in writing before we begin. We accept M-Pesa Paybill, Visa & Mastercard, Cash.
How much does treatment cost?
Every treatment has a published price range on our pricing page. Your exact price is confirmed in writing at your consultation, before any treatment starts.
Where are you, and is there parking?

Which dentist will I see?
Nervous first visits are usually with Dr Wanjiru Kamau. Implants and crowns are with Dr Omar Hassan, straightening with Dr Achieng’ Otieno, and children with Dr Daniel Mwangi. You can ask for a particular dentist when you book.
Nervous patients
Comfort
and sedation.
I am embarrassed about the state of my teeth. Will you judge me?
No. Long gaps and neglected teeth are some of the most common things we see. We are here to help, not to comment.
Can I just come in to talk?
Yes. A first visit can be only a conversation. Many of our most nervous patients start that way.
Will I be asleep with sedation?
No. With laughing gas or oral sedation you stay awake and responsive, but deeply relaxed. Many people remember little of the visit.
Can I bring someone with me?
Of course. A friend or family member is welcome in the room.
Treatment
About
treatments.
What does the implant price include?
Our single-tooth quote includes the 3D scan, the implant, the connecting abutment, the final porcelain crown, and all reviews. Bone grafting, if needed, is quoted separately before you start.
Is a root canal painful?
The treatment itself is done under full numbing and most patients compare it to a long filling. It's the infection beforehand that hurts; the treatment is what stops it.
Will whitening make my teeth sensitive?
Some people feel short-lived sensitivity for a day or two. We use low-sensitivity gels and apply a desensitiser afterwards to keep it mild.
Am I too old for braces?
No. Most of our orthodontic patients are adults, and teeth can be moved safely at any age as long as the gums are healthy.
Come in for a talk.
Nothing more, unless you want it.
A 45-minute first visit with a dentist who will listen first. Book online, call, or send us a WhatsApp.
