For nervous patients

If you dread
the dentist,
start here.

Shwari was founded for people who find the dentist hard — the ones who cancel, who haven't been in years, who feel sick in the waiting room. You are not unusual, and you won't be judged.

The comfort protocol

Five promises,
every visit.

  1. A first visit that can be just a talk

Forty-five minutes, in a room without a dental chair if you prefer. Nothing happens that you have not agreed to.

  2. A stop signal that always works

Raise your hand and we stop — mid-sentence, mid-clean, mid-anything. Every time.

  3. Numbing before the numbing

Gel on the gum before any injection, then a slow, computer-controlled anaesthetic that most people barely notice.

  4. Laughing gas or oral sedation

Led by a sedation-trained dentist, with monitoring throughout. Laughing gas wears off in minutes.

  5. Time, quiet and headphones

Longer appointments, no rushing between rooms, and noise-cancelling headphones with your own music.

Your options

As much help
as you need.

You choose — and you can change your mind on the day.

Always available

Just talking

A first visit in a consultation room, not a dental chair. Many of our most nervous patients start here.

Most treatments

Laughing gas

Calm within minutes, awake throughout, clear-headed soon after. You can drive home.

Longer or surgical treatment

Oral sedation

A tablet before your visit for a deeper calm. Someone needs to bring you and take you home.

Your first visit

What actually
happens.

  1. Book the way you prefer

WhatsApp, a call, or the form. Tell us if you are nervous — we will book a longer slot.

  2. A short WhatsApp before your visit

Directions, parking, what to bring, and an insurance check so there are no surprises at the desk.

  3. Talk first

We ask what has happened before and what you would like today. You set the pace.

  4. A gentle look — if you are ready

Examination and digital X-rays, explained on screen as we go.

  5. A plan in writing

What we found, what is urgent, what can wait, and what each option costs — sent to your phone.

In their words

They were nervous too.

Sedation & fillings

I hadn't been to a dentist in eleven years. Dr Kamau spent the whole first visit just talking to me. By the third visit I had four fillings done with laughing gas and honestly didn't mind it. I never thought I'd write that.

Children's dentistry

My four-year-old screamed at her last dentist. With Dr Mwangi she counted her teeth, rode the chair up and down, and asked when she can come back.

Wisdom tooth removal

Oral sedation for an impacted wisdom tooth. I remember arriving and then my wife driving me home. They messaged that evening to check on me. Back at work in two days.

Questions

The things people
are afraid to ask.

I am embarrassed about the state of my teeth. Will you judge me?

No. Long gaps and neglected teeth are some of the most common things we see. We are here to help, not to comment.

Can I just come in to talk?

Yes. A first visit can be only a conversation. Many of our most nervous patients start that way.

Will I be asleep with sedation?

No. With laughing gas or oral sedation you stay awake and responsive, but deeply relaxed. Many people remember little of the visit.

Can I bring someone with me?

Of course. A friend or family member is welcome in the room.

The hardest part
is booking.

After that, we'll take it from here. Book online, or send a WhatsApp — you don't have to explain anything on the phone.
